Who knew the dynamics of their friendship would drastically change the trajectory of their young lives. Who knew those qualities that endeared them to one another would morph into something alien.

This was a foreign territory. It's all about choices: it's all about survival now.

A young martial artist must first overcome the pit-falls of a poverty-stricken inner-city life to earn the opportunity to challenge and beat his privileged step-brother; his estranged father's protégé, in a national competition, to make a better life for himself and his hard-working single mother.

Young Taji Anderson waits patiently in vain for his dad to come back home. Intent on getting himself and his mom out of the projects while his father pursues martial arts stardom, Taji is forced to overcome many challenges on his own. When he finds out his father has started a new family in Vegas, never to return, he is devastated. He will fight to prove to his father that he is the true champion of the family, and not his secret past indiscretion. Even if it means challenging his own flesh and blood.

A young woman is suddenly faced with a serious health scare that changes the trajectory of her life. When given the news her treatment is a success, she has to now somehow find the inner strength to reclaim her life. 

 Rita, a pretty and popular diva, had a successful career and an active social life. One would say she had it all; until the day she discovered a lump in her breast. Sarah, Rita’s ride and die, was there for her every step of the way. She was even there when Rita got to ring the cancer free victory bell. Sarah tries to convince Rita to stop hibernating. Rita has lost her confidence along with her beautiful head of hair.  Sarah suggests she calls the handsome young man who has been trying to take her out for months in order to get her groove back.

TRAP is a gritty artistic coming of age drama of five teenage street performers desperate to make it big on Broadway by working hard to avoid the pit-falls of inner-city street life while balancing their own personal lives.


Together, five childhood friends, very different, who share the same dream, make up the group; “Sounds in the Key of Life.”All of the elements, the science of sound, original songs, poignant dialog, creative dance, and real life situations are pieces of the “Sounds in The Key of Life” puzzle. Contemporary lyrics and rap chronicle the essence of their daily lives. The pace is set by the rhythm of the city and the percussive beats of the street bucket drummers. A melodic vocal and the art of their skillful DJ is the ribbon that ties it all together.
